Funding applications – for lots of money or just a little, from trusts or foundations or public bodies, I can help you to write a funding application or simply offer another pair of eyes when you feel that you’ve been looking at it for too long. Similarly, I can help you to put together a proposal for an exhibition, commission, residency or whatever you might wish to apply for.

Signposting – I can help to point you in the direction of people, places or organisations who might like what you do and be interested in working with you. I’ve worked for a lot of good places and know lots of good people and try to stay in touch with as many as possible.

Strategic planning – whether you’re an individual who needs help in building a short term plan, or an organisation who wants to take a long view, I’d be interested in working with you.

Project evaluation – whether evaluating a round of funding or a specific project, my report-writing skills will ensure that you can return to your funder or governing body feeling confident (and maybe prepared to ask for more).

Project management – I have managed lots of projects, large and small, from their very beginning to their completion. This spans everything including planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, marketing, delivering and evaluating.

Events management – Working for galleries, festivals, initiatives and universities has given me experience in managing all sorts of events from symposia to private views and can take excellent care of your remit, speakers, audiences, caterers, running times and (some!) technical aspects.

Portfolio review – we can discuss your work or your programme in a supportive and critically engaged context.

Writing – communicating well and appropriately with audiences/a readership is one of my passions. I can apply years of experience in copywriting for interpretation, publicity materials, journal articles and catalogue essays to whatever kind of writing you might need. I am also a very pedantic proof-reader!

Advice – whether you want to make your ideas heard and have your work seen; need to realise you’re not alone in suffering rejection or struggling to support your practice; whether you want to know what a reasonably priced studio should cost per square foot, how to structure a budget and timescale for your project, how to grow your audience or develop a marketing or sustainability plan… if I can’t help you I’ll put you in touch with somebody who can.
